DOLE Furnishes 1 Computer Set to Municipality of Dolores for Skills Registry

No less than the head of the Department of Labor and Employment – Abra Chapter visited our Municipality to personally hand over 1 computer unit (CPU, Monitor, 3 in 1 Printer/Scanner/Copier, Portable Hard Drive) which will be used, primarily, for the Skills Registry System in Dolores.
The registry is a labor market information database on skills certification and accreditation, licensure, and local and overseas employment of the people. In other words, it is a registry of the people’s employable skills.
Under the management of the Public Employment Service Officer (PESO) Alona Manganaan, trained personnel will be conducting house to house interviews in all 15 Barangays of Dolores to collect Skills and Employment-related information. The PESO Officer is then tasked to update the registry with these information until all Dolorenians (of legal age) have been registered and updated in the system.
The system will then serve as a quick and reliable source of manpower for employers.
Mayor JR Seares and PESO Officer Alona Manganaan happily received the computer unit.

AKO Training by PhilHealth Conducted, JICA main sponsors

For some reason, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) really loves Abra. They have been putting up projects in different municipalities, sponsoring seminars, trainings, and workshops for our doctors, nurses, and midwives, all geared towards uplifting the health system and the health status of the people.
This time, JICA partnered with the Philippine Health Insurance Company (PhilHealth) to train Barangay Kagawads, Barangay Health Workers and other Focal Persons who are in constant interaction with the community to serve as Advocate of Knowledge Officers (AKO).
The goal is for the members to be informed of their benefits, registration, contribution and availment procedures. However, the corporation’s human resource would not suffice to reach out to the millions of people it covers. With trained AKO Officers, the information is available within the community.
The training will equip participants with the right amount of information needed to assist members, beneficiaries and even potential members in navigating their way thru PhilHealth’s membership programs and benefits.

KALIPI completes Training on Food Preparation

This was probably the most enjoyable livelihood training for the KALIPI members. For one, there was a different recipe (or two) being learned every day. Also, who wouldn’t enjoy learning to make food that would amaze your family and friends, not to mention food that can be sold at a profitable price? The KALIPI trainees were also treated to a demonstration of how to bake Carrot Muffins by Dolores’ own distinguished Culinary Artist SB Sesy Seares, at her very house.
The recipes taught to the trainees were the following; Kamias Candy, Sugar Coated Peanuts, Banana Crackers, Siomai, Pastillas, Yema, Spicy Dilis, and the Carrot Muffins. We had a chance to taste most of them and one can definitely say is that our KALIPI Cooks can definitely compete with other products out there being sold in the market.

Department of Trade Industry Visits Dolores, Conducts Free Lecture-Forum

DTI visited entrepreneurs of Dolores, answered queries, and conducted on-site registration of Business Names. DTI will also handle the delivery of the Registration Papers to the Municipality of Dolores.

This means that our dear entrepreneurs have been spared the time and (commuters) money to go to Bangued and back for their Business Name Registration (which is good for 5 years).

Thanks DTI!
