After being postponed last August 28, 2012 due to unforeseen circumstances, the first ever fun run in Dolores finally pushed through this morning.

Excited Runners showed up at the Talogtog Triangle as early as 5 am. At 6:51 am, The Municipal Health Officer Dr. Michael Vince Castelo blew the whistle and the runners bolted the 4 km course to Poblacion.

It was a pair of brothers from Lagangilang who bested about a hundred other participants and arrived first and second at the finish line. Archie Patubo and Raul Patubo breasted the tape at official times of 16 minutes 24 seconds and 16 minutes 34 seconds respectively. Meanwhile, Vincent Jhay Cada from Kimmalaba with official time of 18 minutes and 8 seconds finished 3rd.

A short awarding program was held after the activity. Mr. Dan Rullan hosted the event and ABC President Danilo Briosos and Barangay Chairmans Mariquita Guzman (Poblacion), Severino Jimenez (Libtec), Albertano Zapata (Lublubba), Reuel Talledo (Kimmalaba) assisted with the awarding. All runners were rewarded with thrift bags containing snacks. Certificate of Participation will follow afterwards.

The winners were awarded with Medals and Cash Prizes; 1st Prize P1,000, 2nd Prize P800, 3rd Prize P600.

In his short message, Dr. Castelo indicated that he plans to conduct more fun runs in the future, make them more fun, and separate the male and female categories.
