With Mayor JR Seares leading the local government of Dolores, different government and non-government organizations of Abra paraded through Bangued to highlight Abra’s Foundation Day and the ongoing celebration of the Kawayan Festival, Abra’s feast to celebrate and showcase its abundance of Bamboo.

The staggering heat of the sun was no hindrance for the people of Dolores, all wearing yellow T-shirts with the caption DO LOve and RESpect, My Town, My Pride.

Dolores’ Float, meanwhile, featured the town’s Sakuting Dancers, who occasionally stopped during the parade, to perform to the audience. They paraded from the Grand Stand of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology – Bangued to the Bangued Town Plaza where, once again, the Sakuting was performed to the crowd’s delight.

It will be a whole day of celebration as activities are lined-up for later today such as the Coke Bingo, the Celebrity Basketball Game, and the Balik-Abrenio night. The Capitol Grounds are also filled with booths selling bamboo products, Abra delicacies, and other souvenirs.
